Using Zoom AI with Your SUNY Plattsburgh Account

Zoom AI features are available within SUNY Plattsburgh's Zoom Workplace environment. Sign in through campus single sign-on (SSO) and confirm that your Zoom profile uses your campus email address.

Before entering information: Do not enter personal, sensitive, confidential, or other Protected Information unless ITS has reviewed and approved that specific use.

Sign in on the web

  1. Go to plattsburgh.zoom.us or ai.zoom.us
  2. Select Sign in and choose the SSO option.
  3. Complete the SUNY Plattsburgh sign-in and multifactor authentication prompts.

Sign in through the Zoom Workplace app

  1. Open Zoom Workplace.
  2. Select Sign in with SSO.
  3. When asked for the company domain, enter plattsburgh.
  4. Select Continue and complete the SUNY Plattsburgh sign-in process in your browser.

Verify the account

  1. Open your profile in Zoom Workplace or the Zoom web portal.
  2. Confirm that the displayed email address is your @plattsburgh.edu address.
  3. If the email address is personal or unfamiliar, sign out and repeat the campus SSO process.

Open Zoom AI chat

  1. Sign in to the Zoom Workplace desktop app or web app with your campus account.
  2. Open Home or another Zoom area that supports AI chat.
  3. Select the AI chat icon in the upper-right corner.
  4. Enter your prompt or select a suggested prompt.

If the account or AI option is missing

  • Confirm that the profile shows your @plattsburgh.edu address.
  • Update Zoom Workplace to the current version.
  • Sign out and repeat the SSO process using the company domain plattsburgh.
  • Contact the Helpdesk if the campus account is correct but an expected feature remains unavailable.

Important usage guidance

  • Verify important claims and summaries before relying on or sharing AI-generated output.
  • Review meeting notices and participant expectations before using AI features in a meeting.
  • Remember that a campus account does not authorize every type of university information.
