The Zoom Phone app is available on Windows, Mac, Linux, iOS and Android, it is not available on Chromebooks. For a complete list of features please see Zooms own documentation here. An image of the buttons while on a call is located at the bottom of this article.
Mute - Mutes your microphone but still allows you to hear the individual you are on a call with.
Audio - Opens the audio settings to adjust the volume and/or microphone level while on a call.
Hold - Puts the call on hold so the other party hears music playing until they are taken off hold. Click the button again to take the call off hold.
Transfer
- There are two ways to transfer a call:
- A Blind or Cold transfer, transfers the call to another number/extension with no interaction between the person transferring the call and the new recipient of the call.
- A Warm or Consultative transfer involves the person transferring the call to speak to the new recipient of the call before the transfer is completed.
- To initiate a transfer:
- Click the button for a transfer
- Enter the number or search for a contact
- Click the blue transfer button
- Select the transfer method.
- If a warm transfer is selected, the transfer is completed after clicking Complete Transfer.
End Call - Click the red end call button
Meet - Transfers the call to an instant Zoom Meeting
- If the other party is also using Zoom phone from a desktop or mobile app, they will receive an invite to a Zoom meeting.
- If the other party is using Zoom phone through a desk phone, they will automatically join the meeting with audio only.
- If the other party is using an external phone service, they will automatically join the meeting with audio only.
Record - Allows recording of phone calls, recordings can be accessed in the same manor as Zoom meetings.
