SUNY Plattsburgh students, faculty, and staff at the Queensbury campus use a SUNY Adirondack (ADK) account to sign in to Adirondack computers and Wi-Fi. Use this guide to find your ADK username and set your password for first-time access.
Portal update: MyPlattsburgh displays your ADK Username but no longer displays an ADK temporary password. Your Banner ID is still listed on your profile card. Follow the instructions below instead of looking for a password in the portal.
1. Find your ADK username and Banner ID
- Sign in to MyPlattsburgh.
- On the Home tab, find the profile card under your name.
- Locate ADK Username and Banner ID. Use the ADK username shown there for the steps below.
2. Sign in with the correct ADK account
Go to Microsoft My Sign-ins. Enter your ADK username with the ending that matches your role:
| Your role |
Sign-in format |
| Student |
ADKusername@wolfmail.sunyacc.edu |
| Faculty or staff |
ADKusername@sunyacc.edu |
Replace ADKusername with your own ADK username. These endings are used for the Microsoft sign-in step; do not add them when signing in to Adirondack Wi-Fi.
3. Enter your password
First-time sign-in with a new account: The Queensbury campus instructions specify a temporary password consisting of SAdk@ followed immediately by your full Plattsburgh Banner ID, with no spaces, quotation marks, or brackets. Preserve the uppercase S and A and lowercase dk.
Already changed your ADK password? Use the password you previously set. The temporary-password format is for initial access, not a way to reset an existing password.
Existing faculty/staff accounts: The faculty/staff handout, effective May 18, 2026, says existing faculty and staff reset using their original password. If that password is unknown or does not work, contact the SUNY Adirondack Help Desk.
4. Set your new password
When prompted to change your temporary password, choose a password that meets the requirements in the Queensbury campus instructions:
- At least 14 characters
- At least one uppercase letter
- At least one number
- At least one special character
- No personally identifiable information, such as your name
Follow any on-screen prompts for multi-factor authentication (MFA). Keep your new password for future ADK sign-ins.
5. Use your account on campus
Use your ADK account and your new password to access Adirondack computers and Wi-Fi. For Wi-Fi, enter your ADK username without the Microsoft sign-in ending shown above.
Need help or forgot your password?
If your ADK username is missing, your sign-in fails, you have forgotten an existing password, or you are unsure which account type to use, email the SUNY Adirondack Help Desk at help@sunyacc.edu. Explain that you are a SUNY Plattsburgh student, faculty member, or staff member at the Queensbury campus. Do not include your password in the message.
