Powerpoints ‘Presenter View’ allows you to view a slightly minimized version of your slidedeck while
also displaying helpful information like speaker notes and a clock for timing your presentation.
If you wish to enable Presenter View in a classroom with dual monitors, navigate to the ‘Slide Show’ tab
in Powerpoint, and ensure the box stating ‘Use Presenter View’ is enabled. When you launch your
presentation, you will have the Presenter View on one screen, as well as a full-screen view of the
slidedeck on the second screen and projector.
If you wish to enable Presenter View in a classroom with a single monitor, you need to ensure that the
projector is set to be an extension of your screen – known as ‘Extend’ mode. To enable 'Extend' mode:
1) Double-click ChangeDisplay on the desktop and click on the pop-up.
2) Select Extend;. The projected image will now be an extension of your homescreen rather than exact
duplicate. Items can be dragged from one screen to another as they are with typical dual-monitor
setups.
3) Open Powerpoint on the main monitor. On the ‘Slide Show’ tab, ensure that the box stating ‘Use
Presenter View' is enabled, then start your slideshow. The full-screen slidedeck should be visible on the
projector, and Presenter View should be visible on the monitor.
